A little about us.
NextChapter grew out of a desire for forward movement, grounded in real-world experience. We believe there’s always something to figure out, something that could work better or simply something that needs to get done.
Nearly 25 years in finance and accounting have taught us that the numbers matter — but so do the people, processes, systems and circumstances around them. We bring perspective, curiosity and fresh energy to the work, with a genuine desire to help.
Our goal is simple: help you make sense of what’s happening, solve what isn’t working, make confident decisions and get things moving, with accuracy, clarity and an approachable style.
A FEW THINGS I BELIEVE…
Finance should empower decision making, not hinder it.
“That’s how we’ve always done it” isn’t a strategy.
Just because something works doesn’t mean it works well.
Numbers matter. But they’re never the whole story.
Sometimes you don't need another employee. You just need the right help at the right time.
There are people behind every number.
Experience behind the perspective.

Natalie Cusat, CPA
Founder
Hi, I’m Natalie.
I’ve always cared about making an impact. I’ve spent almost 25 years in finance and accounting, working inside companies of all shapes and sizes and across a wide range of industries. I’ve seen a lot and learned a lot. But this line of work doesn’t always let you see the tangible value of what you’re doing, or the human impact it can have. I wanted to use what I know more directly: to solve real problems and make the work a little easier.
Curiosity and energy have always shaped how I work. I ask questions. I like figuring out why something works - or why it doesn’t. And I’m fascinated by how people think and how work actually gets done. Because behind the numbers are people making decisions, navigating change and working towards what’s next. Finance, accounting and operations don’t have to feel overwhelming — sometimes you just need someone to help make sense of it all.
After over two decades, I felt like it was time to take everything I’d learned and use it differently, with different people, organizations and challenges, and in a more collaborative way. That’s what led me to NextChapter. Bring me the thing that feels complicated. The thing you don’t have time for. The thing you’d really rather someone else handle. Sometimes a fresh perspective, a few good questions and another set of experienced eyes are all it takes to figure out where to go from there.
And the name? NC happens to be my initials, but NextChapter captures what the business is all about — a fresh approach to finance and accounting and helping others move forward.
